Always on Duty
Hi, Welcome to Vogel Haus Kennels. We are located in the Piney Woods
of East Texas on 13 acres, just North of Tyler.
While we have kennel facilities, our "kids" are raised in my large
home, family style. However I spend special "alone" time with each dog daily.
When back and eye injuries ended my truck driving career, I needed something to fulfill my life. I found it !
I am home full time and love it.
Our goal is to offer well socialized, superb temperament, quality pups.
All of our dogs are hand selected, not related, and raised from puppies so we are sure of behavior, temperament and health. All my guys get special "me only" time, so I learn their individual personalities as well as social behavior. They also play with a blue heeler (dorm mom) so they are not afraid of other dogs.
Unlike some breeders who say their dogs are home raised, when really they are in cages (maybe inside the home), our dogs do everything with me.
We have 3 quality dog foods available full time and they get 2 "meals" a day. Good stuff like scrambled eggs. We go on walks to the pond and 2 o'clock is snack time when mom tries to watch Jason on General Hospital. Our puppies sleep in a play pen overnight. But older dogs have the run of the house, which includes a 30 x 28 foot living room, that opens, with a doggie door, to access a fenced 60 x 70 foot yard.
We want our pups to go to FOREVER FAMILIES. We would rather miss a sale than to send a pup to an unsure buyer.
Arrangements can be made for shipping or in many cases delivery,
if payment and arrangments are made in advance.
We do take PayPal.
Dachshund are lively, funny, smart and stubborn dogs.
They love to be with people inside and outside.
If you are looking for a companion who can go with you almost anywhere or just curl up with you at home then a Dachshund is a good choice.
Our dogs are carefully picked to insure that we raise beautiful, healthy, loving pups.
We home raise our dogs so they are friendly and outgoing; they are part of our family.

Here In This House:
I will never know the loneliness I hear in the barks of the other dogs
"out there." I can sleep soundly, assured that when I wake my world
will not have changed. I will never know hunger, or the fear of not
knowing if I'll eat. I will not shiver in the cold, or grow weary from the
heat. I will feel the sun's heat, and the rain's coolness, and be allowed
to smell all that can reach me nose. My fur will shine, and never be
dirty or matted.
Here in this house - there will be an effort to communicate with me on
my level. I will be talked to and, even if I don't understand, I can enjoy
the warmth of the works. I will be given a name so that I may know
who I am among many. My name will be used in joy, and I will love
the sound of it!
Here in this house - I will never be a substitute for anything that I am
not. I will never be used to improve people's images of themselves. I
will be loved because I am who I am, not someone's anger, impatience
or stupidity. I will be taught all the things I need to know to be loved
by all. If I do not learn my lessons well, they will look to my teacher
for blame.
Here in this house - I can trust arms that hold, hands that touch,
knowing that no matter what they do, they do it for the good of me.
If I am ill, I will be doctored. If scared, I will be calmed. If sad, I will
be cheered. No matter what I look like, I will be considered beautiful
and thought to be of value. I will never be cast out because I am too
old, too ill, too unruly or not cute enough. My life is a responsibility
and not an afterthought. I will learn that humans can almost, sometimes,
be as kind and as fair as dogs.
Here in this house - I will belong. I will be home.
