As I told you, the rescued ducks were going to be tossed out for the broken wing and bad eye, and we fixed both, ..Bonnie the goat was so sick with fluid leaking out of her eyes and nose, etc. that I didn't have much hope, but I scraped up the money and bought her and another one little goat anyway, and brought them home and started the meds.
The smller one did not make it, but I can tell you Bonnie knows she was saved. She lets me know everyday she was lucky. She senses it and shows me with her love and playing everyday. (even if she did eat every one of my prize rosebushes).
I rescued a pair of lap dogs that went from being top dog, to out in pens when the baby arrived. Months of daily talking to them while I fed them has built a strong trust now.
There is heartace in those that don't make it, but most days are we just enjoying the successes. I am more content than I have ever been. I could use more money/supplies/ and a helper, lol, but I always seem to make it through. I believe someone is proud of my little attempt at giving back. (Amen).
There are plenty of natural critters around here too. A dear, little red fox that steals food from around Bernie the pigs pen. I even feed the crows. So please enjoy the photos on all these pages, more will be added soon.

This is GTO the pygmy goat and Bernadette the pig. They are best bud's

This is my newest sweeetie Gandor with his mama, shown here, she got tired of him at about 3 weeks, he is the last of the litter and likes to sleep under my chin and so far is passing for a crème

I have 4 Ferrets , Larry, Mo, Shep and the female Curly, all are fixed and they are the new breed of smaller genertic superior Marshall Ferrets.
I bred Ferrets in the '80's and they were much larger and my Albino was rare then.

I have 4 bunnies, Rainbow, BB, Velvet and Butterscotch. This Bunny is Rainbow

2 Female Albino Hedgehogs and I am working on names as I cannot tell them apart anyway. I am going to have to paint a dot on one, LOL. They are a blast. They growl at you if you startle them. They can be soft to touch or can draw blood, so I am learning more about them. I have now aquired a male and named him Pinto.

    JUST MY DOG

He is my other eyes that can see above
the clouds; my other ears that hear above
the winds. He is the part of me that can
    reach out into the sea.

He has told me a thousand times over that
I am his reason for being: by the way he
rests against my leg; by the way he thumps
his tail at my smallest smile; by the way he
shows his hurt when I leave without taking him.
(I think it makes him sick with worry when he
is not along to care for me.)

When I am wrong, he is delighted to forgive.
When I am angry, he clowns to make me smile.
When I am happy, he is joy unbounded.
When I am a fool, he ignores it.
    When I succeed, he brags.
Without him, I am only another man. With him, I am all-powerful.
    He is loyalty itself.
He has taught me the meaning of devotion.
With him, I know a secret comfort and a
private peace. He has brought me understanding
    where before I was ignorant.
His head on my knee can heal my human hurts.
His presence by my side is protection against
my fears of dark and unknown things.
He has promised to wait for me...
    whenever...wherever--in case I need him.
    And I expect I will--as I always have.

    He is just my dog.

I have always had a fondness for Basset Hounds, and I was given one for Christmas. I have owned several over the years, but now with my bad back, I was trying to stay with a smaller breed, but if you visit, you will see Bassets Items everywhere.
I had also owned Dashies as a child and chose to raise them because of their great personality and similarity to Bassets. Bassets are very different, they own you. Now I have a pair, Bufford T Basset and Buellah Basset. Hopefully there are going to be some pretty pups soon, LOL, to pay for the food they can chow down!!

  • "THIS IS SOME GOOD ADVICE!"..

    If a dog was the teacher, you would learn stuff like;

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.
Let others know when they've invaded your territory.
    Take naps.
    Stretch before rising.
    Run, romp, and play daily.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout..I run right back and make friends.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
    Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.
Stop when you have had enough.
    Be loyal.
Never pretend to be something you're not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
Take lots of rides in the car with your friend.

DOGGIE POEMS - ONE MAJOR KLEENEX ALERT

Now I lay me down to sleep.
The king-size bed is soft and deep.
I sleep right in the center groove.
My human being can hardly move.
I've trapped her legs, she is tucked in tight.
And here is where I pass the night.
No one disturbs me or dares intrude
Til morning comes and I want food!
I sneak up slowly and it begins,
My nudging on my human's chin.
She wakes up slowly and smiles and shouts,
"You precious pest....5 more minutes, now cut it out!"
But morning's here and it's time to play.
I always seem to get my way.
So thank you, Lord, for giving me
This human person that I see.
The one who hugs and holds me tight
And shares her bed with me at night.
